Hillary Hanson joined IFPRI in 2013 working as a Program Assistant for the Environment Production and Technology Division. She has recently been promoted to Administrative Coordinator to work with PBS. Hillary has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Upon graduating she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Starobelsk, Ukraine and worked in international education in Fukui, Japan.
She speaks Russian, and basic Spanish and Japanese. What excites Hillary the most about joining PBS is the work being done to help developing countries keep their small farmers and agricultural sectors strong while still providing their communities with proper nutrition. She is motivated by helping such countries find appropriate ways to implement biotech policies.
