Pilar Rickert has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University Ricardo Palma in Lima, Peru, where she is originally from. Prior joining PBS in June, 2010 she worked in the Training Department at the International Potato Center (CIP) based in Lima, working directly with the Event and Conference Coordinator on the organization of all of the events for the Center. She moved to Washington, DC in 2007 and worked as a
Project Manager for a private company before being hired by IFPRI. What excites Pilar most about biosafety is the challenge of educating people about the facts surrounding genetically modified food and is happy to do her part to help developing countries that have chosen to apply Biotech in Agriculture by helping to make sure that proper biosafety regulations are used.
