Sidi Asmono received a degree in agriculture studies, with an emphasis on agronomy, from Bogor Agricultural University. He has since worked 18 years in the agricultural industry field, focusing on conservation tillage, seeds, and biotechnology. He has during this time developed an intimate knowledge and familiarity with the Indonesian government and political landscape.
He has also developed relationships with key biotechnology stakeholders. Sidi has established cooperation with relevant government institutions, policy makers, and technology developers, and developed resources for the strengthening of the Indonesia Biotechnology Commission’s capacity development. What excites him most about biosafety is its status as a “state of the art” solution that leads to the success of biotechnology adoption.
